Program Options
For grades 6-8 or 9-12
Students harness their creative passion and hone their entrepreneurial chops, all while learning about disruptive innovation and the economics of venture capitalism. Working in teams, students:
- Develop an idea (disruptive innovation), build a prototype, and create a business plan.
- Create and film a commercial for their product.
- Pitch their idea to real-life venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and even professional actors.
For grades 6-8 or 9-12
Students run their own small business, creating independent movie production houses to source funding for their new indie film project. Throughout this residency, students:
- Create a business plan, marketing plan, and brand voice for their business.
- Apply for a business license, venue license, small business loan or line of credit.
- Learn about all aspects of producing.
- Write, direct, act, and host a screening for their original indie film project.
For grades 6-8 or 9-12
Students enter a world not unlike our own to solve a mystery and participate in an epic story. They act as employees of a secret organization and must solve a mystery, all while gaining critical skills in personal finance. In their roles, students:
- Earn a paycheck, learn about taxes, and deposit their money.
- Create a personal budget and pay bills.
- Learn how to build credit and calculate interest rates.
