Apply for March 2019 Workshops
Brain Arts Productions is pleased to announce that we have received funding from Mr. Timothy J. Ranzetta and Vanguard Charitable to support our “Money Saving Madness” financial literacy program. This custom workshop is focused on discretionary spending through creative play, role-playing and realistic activities. There are 10 workshop slots available to Chicagoland organizations. If you would like to apply, please review the information below and submit a short application.
Money Saving Madness is a one-hour personal finance workshop for high school students. This custom workshop is focused on discretionary spending – one of the most concrete and yet one of the most uncontrollable aspects of personal finance. Students will learn the difference between overhead and discretionary spending, the way our brains are wired to spend or save, and how to train our impulses for smarter spending and saving. They will take home additional materials to share with parents to continue the conversation at home.
We all know what we should do regarding discretionary spending, but it’s much harder to always make the right choice in the moment. Our role-playing game puts high schoolers in the realistic, exciting setting of a fictional college where they must make decisions fast. Casting themselves as college freshmen, students are tasked with a high-stakes, time-sensitive goal that puts their immediate impulses to spend or save at the forefront of the game.
Just fill out the short application below. Please note that this 1-hour, 1 time workshop is for high school students in the Chicagoland area. Organizations may be of any size, but we need to reach between 15-20 students at the workshop. This workshop is completely free to organizations and we are taking applications now through December 15, 2018. Workshops will take place during the month of March 2019; we will determine exact dates after accepted applicants have been notified.
